What You Need To Know About Microsoft Access Certificates

Several Microsoft certificates are available which certify your knowledge and skills in relation to the different Microsoft products. These certificates are recognized the world over by industry professionals and business concerns. The Microsoft Access certificates, for example, is one such highly recognized and respected certificate, and certifies the awardees proficiency in using Microsoft access.

The Microsoft access certificates are meant to give the users of Access recognizable documents attesting their skills and knowledge in the operational features and functionality of the Microsoft Access program. There are three individual access certificates you can earn, each of these three certificates focus on three different perspectives regarding the Microsoft access program.

The access basics is one such certificate, and focuses on mastering of the basics of the Access operation, and also creating basic tables, queries, reports, and forms. The Access intermediate is the next certificate, and covers action queries, data normalization, data access pages, macros, and also more advanced queries, and report calculations. And, last but not least, there is the Access Application Development certificate which covers the creation of usable access applications which actually function. So what is the process involved in getting the Microsoft Access certificates?

Candidates are expected to visit the ITS computer workshops. If, however, the candidate in question already has some of the skills which will be covered in  some or all of these classes, they can opt to either not attend the classes at all, or attend selected workshops. However, to earn the certificate, it is compulsory for the students to attend the testing sessions.

The test session lasts for about two hours. It includes a written exam, as well as a hands-on-skills assessment test. The instructor here will give instructions and also ask questions. Students will be marked according to their quick response, and also the ability to perform the given functions. This same process will be repeated with both the Access intermediate, and the Access application development.

Assessment is done of the tests after you have appeared for both. The pass percentage for the written exam is 75%, and a score of 90% is mandatory for passing the hands-on-skill test. There will be some tough and theory-based questions. The questions will be reflecting on the discussions held in the different workshops. The hands-on-skill assessment test will cover the standard skill functions which are a part of the access workshops.

The grades, however, will be noted only for internal assessment purposes, and will not be noted on the certificate itself. But, once you have passed the exams, you can look forward to getting your certificate and updating your resume accordingly.

The Microsoft access certificate is very valuable indeed for your career aspirations in the fast growing IT sector.
