How To Become A Microsoft Certificate Center

Microsoft Corporation has always relied on the third party vendors for the delivery of its examination. After a long partnership with Pearson VUE , the software giant revealed that from September 1, 2007, Thomson Prometric shall be delivering testing services through its Microsoft certificate center.

This means that if you want to become a Microsoft certificate testing point, you would have to enter a tie up with Thomson Prometric. Here is the procedure laid down by Thomson Prometric to become a Microsoft Certificate testing point. Prometric designates all its testing points by a single designation 'Authorized Prometric Testing Center'. Each organization needs to apply in a specific format to become an authorized center.

First of all Prometric requires that the testing room must meet a certain criteria. The room where the exam is to be administered must be appropriately furnished and designed. A special room is required for the test administrator with a number of infrastructural requirements.

Secondly every testing center must also be able to deploy one or preferably more than one person who shall be a qualified Prometric Test Center Administrator. The administrator must have undergone relevant course from Prometric. He is supposed to manage the daily activities of test center and the communications with Prometric about the various operational and related procedures.

Thirdly in order to become Authorized Prometric Testing Center, the organization must also be able to handle candidates referred by the company. They must license the Internet based Site Manager and Pulse testing solutions from Prometric. Apart from this there are a number of scheduling and logistical requirements that need to be fulfilled. Prometric is also planning to impose certain computing infrastructure requirements from mid 2008 which must be agreed to in advance.

Next are some operator responsibilities which need to be fulfilled by the organization in order to become a testing center. First and foremost is to ensure the safety and security of all Prometric software and intellectual property. A requirement to maintain data privacy is also to be satisfied. The testing centers are also supposed to be disabled friendly and located at reasonably accessible areas. It is also required that within 30 days of grant of the status as a testing center, the testing shall begin.

If you are ready to accept all these conditions than you have to fill up an online form and wait for a reply from Thomson Prometric. If they consider that you are eligible to become an authorized center you shall be contacted for further details and inspection.

Becoming a Microsoft certificate center at this time is a great idea because Thomson Prometric is looking for organizations which can deliver the exams. Almost all the Pearson VUE authorized centers can also become Prometric centers very easily.
